About Me

I majored in art from an early age. Growing up in the 60’s I was influenced by artist from Salvador Dali to Leonardo. Another influence was an illustrator called Alberto Vargus. Yes mostly well known for the Vargus Girls adorning multiple issues of Playboy.  My college experience included studying under well known artists such as Fred Dalkey, Darrel Forney and others. My primary focus was on figurative art. I eventually left college to join a career unrelated to my art background. Working for the California State Architect I had the opportunity to return to school, at least part time and was able to attend a few semesters at the California College of Art in San Francisco.  While enrolled I kept bouncing between fine art and architecture. Though always leaning towards fine arts, I left to make a living in design & development. Now retired I have been able to go back to my original passion of painting. Through the years I’ve used my background in architecture and art to become a designer, and renderer of liturgical spaces and other interiors for many churches and other clients in California and elsewhere. Since retirement I’ve stepped away from some of it but who knows, I may take the leap again in the future. Most of my building and interiors were developed in Revit & 3Ds Max. I’ve been an AutoCAD user since the late 80’s (Dos) and have been drawing in 3D since the mid 90’s. Since retirement I have also developed a love for and respect for en plein air painting. Now living in Washington State, I’ve found perfect place for it. That’s if all the trees don’t get in the way.
